Nouveau Porter (California Black Ale)
Cullen writes of this brew:
On Saturday August 12, I took over the shop system to brew this recipe for my upcoming wedding. I wanted to make something that would be rich and delicious but not so strong that our guests at the reception will turn the event into a drunken brawl. I'll leave that to the groomsmen, who have honed their technique. In formulating the recipe, I aimed less at brewing to any style guidelines than to achieving a deep and complex grain profile accompanied by newer high-alpha hops for a clean bitter finish to create a perfect marriage of ingredients from the Old World, England and America.
